Spot & suppress
Recon shares spotted targets with your side. Direct-fire weapons still need clear line of sight and range. MGs and mortars pin defenders before a push.
Release Hold fire to commit weapons. Radios and an observer are needed for distant mortar support.
Blue: your deployment · Red: opposition · Gold: objectives. Fixed forces, no mid-battle requisition. Replacements and repairs happen here between battles.
Blue: held ground · Red: enemy-held · Gold: contact · Dashed arrows: your planned movement. Enemy intentions stay hidden.
Lead a Green detachment through three assessed exercises, then fight three combat missions. You may volunteer for immediate combat duty before graduation; doing so ends the course early. Names, qualifications, losses and experience carry forward. This is a schematic fictional chapter using your chosen army and war period; it is not a pre-war chronology.
Joining a friend creates a fresh officer and platoon in their career, using the host’s army and period. Your other saved postings remain available above.
Up to three officers. Attach between combat missions, then volunteer for each next battle. Mid-battle arrivals and transfers between separate careers are future work.
Each passed exercise awards 10 officer XP once. Completing the course qualifies your Green crews as Trained. Exercise casualties are restored; an incomplete exercise can be retried.
Combat experience requires action and at least 30 battle seconds. Captain at 60 officer XP brings two new Green teams. Rank is a simplified career label and grants no direct combat-stat bonus.
The host deploys their platoon and attached volunteers. Staying in reserve preserves your force. During a battle, a departing or timed-out friend hands their detachment to AI; new officers join only after the battle. Close the desk to return to the menu without losing your career.
Command is seeking volunteers from the unfinished course. This is optional; complete training first if you want your crews qualified before combat.
Volunteering ends this chapter’s training. You keep earned qualifications and XP; skipped exercises grant none, and your crews keep their current grade. Combat losses and ammunition use persist. You can refit with your available supply between missions.
